M&T Bank + Buffalo Purchasing Initiative

M&T Bank traces its origins to the founding of Manufacturers and Traders Bank in Buffalo, New York, in 1856.  Over the past 165+ years, M&T has grown organically and through acquisitions to become a major regional bank employing more than 17,000 primarily across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, while still actively seeking to stay true to its identity as a community bank from Buffalo.

Following the April 1, 2022 merger with People’s United Financial, Inc., M&T Bank has a network of over 1,000 branches and 2,200 ATMs that span 12 states from Maine to Virginia and Washington, D.C.

Procurement at M&T

M&T’s Corporate Procurement department manages Strategic Sourcing opportunities as well as a robust Third Party Risk Management regime.  Corporate Procurement supports many business units within M&T by facilitating RFPs, RFIs, and otherwise providing structure for business units seeking to work with third parties.  Working with M&T will likely involve Corporate Procurement for contracts reaching six figures and for any services provided by third parties that involve suppliers accessing sensitive M&T and customer data; however, for smaller and less risk-intensive scopes of work, business units may be engaged directly.  Reach out to supplierdiversity@mtb.com to start the process of understanding what opportunities may be available for you.

M&T Bank is proud to run a Supplier Diversity Program, which focuses on increasing procurement opportunities for businesses owned by women, people of color, members of the LGBTQ+ community, people with disabilities, and veterans.  You can read more about Supplier Diversity at M&T at https://www3.mtb.com/about-mt/become-supplier/mt-supplier-diversity.
