A Statement from the Greater Buffalo Racial Equity Roundtable – June 1, 2020

June 1, 2020

The Greater Buffalo Racial Equity Roundtable is committed to creating safe, inclusive and equitable communities. We are profoundly saddened by the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis and fully support the overwhelming majority of people who protested this injustice peacefully. The Roundtable stands in solidarity to put an end to the hundreds of years of oppression that the African American community continues to endure.

The Roundtable is committed to changing the institutions and structures that create barriers to fair, equitable treatment and opportunity for all. We will double down on working side-by-side with community leaders from business, government, nonprofit and faith communities to change policies, practices and procedures that hold us back from achieving racial equity. We encourage you to get connected and get involved through your places of worship and community organizations. Please visit www.racialequitybuffalo.org for some suggested resources.

Join us. Now is the time to come together and build bridges of unity.
