Employ Buffalo Niagara

The Racial Equity Roundtable is a member of Employ Buffalo Niagara, a collaborative convened by the Buffalo Niagara Partnership. The Coalition uses a collective impact approach to establish a more inclusive workforce pipeline driven by employer needs

Comprised of key leaders representing business, philanthropy, government and education, the Coalition is focused on:

  • The alignment of resources, people and policies in priority industry sectors
  • Building trust among leaders and staff of multiple institutions who often operate independently of one another
  • Developing and measuring common indicators of progress
  • Understanding how to overcome barriers that block institutions and leaders from working together on a common agenda

The Coalition has also been researching and working with other communities that have used collective impact to create systemic workforce solutions, including the LA Compact (Los Angeles, CA), Partnership for a Competitive Workforce (Cincinnati, OH) and Talent 2025 (Grand Rapids, MI). In addition, the Coalition has also been chosen to participate in the Communities that Work Partnership — a joint project of the U.S. Economic Development Administration Department of Commerce and the Aspen Institute Workforce Strategies Initiative (AspenWSI).
