2023 Breaking Barriers Graduation

We are excited to introduce the 2023 graduating class of Say Yes Buffalo‘s Breaking Barriers!

Say Yes Buffalo’s Breaking Barriers is an initiative of the Greater Buffalo Racial Equity Roundtable’s Boys and Young Men of Color Alignment, created in 2017, to increase academic achievement and job readiness and to develop youth leaders as advocates for change to strengthen and ultimately improve life outcomes for young males of color in the Greater Buffalo community.

The graduates maintained at least 75% attendance in workshops and meetings for a year, completed community service, served as peer mentors, wrote an essay and a letter to their future self, and recruited their replacement to enter the program (who they will mentor) to walk in their footsteps.

Congratulations to the 10 young men who met this criteria and are now Breaking Barriers Graduates!
